As far as you can assign an entire city an archetype, Copenhagen has long been the rebellious little sister of the Big Four fashion capitals. It might not have Paris’ history or New York’s cultural clout, but Copenhagen’s unapologetic, eccentric style has always been able to hold its own. In its 20th iteration, Copenhagen Fashion Week continued in the same vein of bucking the obvious trends and forging its own path—ahead, we dive into what it tells us about Scandinavian style for the Spring/Summer 2027 season.

So what will the Scandi girl be reaching for next summer? You can rest assured that her uniform will be far from boring. The Scandi style we saw on Copenhagen runways isn’t the airbrushed Djerf-core that most people are used to—it’s something a little more weird, and a lot less concerned with being Pinterest-ready. Silhouettes were often baggy and boxy, driving straight past boyfriend fit into solid dad core. Copenhagen maximalism was at its peak, seen in neon palettes and whimsical prints. Intriguingly, an ultra-feminine tradwife aesthetic was favoured by many a designer—especially the more alternative ones, creating an interplay of traditional and radical that felt Copenhagen to the core. Read on for our roundup of the key trends to come out of Copenhagen Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027.

Dad-core Shorts

Bermudas, jorts, cargos—you’re equally as likely to find this season’s trending bottoms on a runway as in the back of your dad’s closet. The bermuda short has been having a moment for a while now—if you don’t believe us, scroll through your favourite influencer’s Euro summer photo dump and see for yourself. On Copenhagen runways, designers leaned into the masculine cool of the silhouette, whether it was in acid-washed denim or tailored linen.

At Loose Ends

Scarves tied across waists, mesh draped atop T-shirts—a flowy, bohemian aesthetic dominated the Spring/Summer 2027 runways. OpéraSport did indeed wrap gauzy scarves around classic outfits, while designers like Sson and Studio Constance pieced together fabrics with contrasting textures and patterns into whimsical dresses. The vibe for this season is an effortless kind of maximalism—as though you drifted into a vintage shop, threw together an outfit out of fabric scraps, and drifted back out.

Late Bloomers

The pants-less look is no longer the sole domain of the more daring celebrities on a red carpet. Almost every designer to show at Copenhagen Fashion Week this year included a sans pants look in their repertoire, many of them opting for fluffy, ruffled underwear instead. Studio Constance and Anne Sofie Madsen went all in on the bloomer look, but if you’re still reluctant about the nursery chic look, opt for Sson or OperaSport’s quieter takes.

Trad But Trendy

Trad core is stepping out of the discourse and onto the runway this season. Alongside Copenhagen’s typical edgy maximalism, a domestic, ultra-feminine aesthetic of ruffles and girlish prints was also spotted for Spring/Summer 2027. Multiple tradwife archetypes abounded—Sson and OpéraSport leaned into a 1950s-era language of prints and pearls, while Skall Studio showed us prairie dresses replete with high collars and ruffled sleeves.

You can’t discuss the tradwife aesthetic without discussing its emphasis on modesty and traditional femininity—contrasted with Copenhagen’s alternative vibe and unapologetically diverse runway cast, it makes for an intriguing, subversive take on the trend.
