Tix Africa launched in Lagos in 2019 to enable organisers across Africa to sell tickets in their local currencies. Folayemi Agusto, chief executive and co-founder of Tix Africa, says in a recent blog post, “We’re not launching in the UK because we’re chasing a new market. We’re launching because the communities we already serve have become increasingly global.
“Organisers who started in Lagos and Accra are now producing experiences in London, Manchester and Birmingham. Others have built thriving communities in the UK from the ground up. They all face the same challenge: they need technology that understands events, their audiences and what it takes to grow a community.”
The platform has spent a year testing Tix UK with its early adopters. In an Instagram video, Agusto explains that the platform gives African promoters and event organisers the chance to expand into the UK and UK organisers the opportunity to tap into Tix Africa’s expertise and community.
