Kendal Mountain Events and Raccoon Media Group have announced the North Downs Mountain Festival, taking place in Shalford Park, Guildford, from 11–13 June 2027.
As the official sister event to Kendal Mountain Festival, the festival will run over three days across nine zones.
The themed zones will include Basecamp Village, which brings partner brands together with outdoor gear, food and drinks. Backcountry will provide attendees with the chance to explore hiking and wild camping, while The Story House will feature a talks and film programme.
The organisers, who say that Kendal Mountain Festival attracts 25,000 visitors and brings in up to £4 million to the Cumbrian economy, hope to mirror that in Surrey.
The announcement also shows a further shift toward festivals focused on exploration, health and an outdoor lifestyle, including the likes of Love Trails and the Armchair Adventure Festival.
Jacqui Scott, CEO of Kendal Mountain Festival, said:“Kendal has always been about more than a place. It is about people, stories, adventure and the shared experience of being outdoors. Partnering with Raccoon Media Group gives us the opportunity to take that spirit to a new stage and create something genuinely exciting for the South of England.
“The North Downs is a beautiful and historic landscape, and Guildford gives us a brilliant base to bring together adventurers, storytellers, athletes, families, brands and outdoor enthusiasts. We are thrilled to be working together to shape a festival with real heart, energy and purpose.”
