With an acting career spanning 13 years, it’s no surprise that Mew Nittha has experienced her fair share of fashion weeks, exclusive parties, movie premieres, and more red carpets than we can count. As a Chanel Friend of the House and a former Valentino brand ambassador, the Thai actress has had plenty of opportunities to refine her personal style.
Then again, Mew’s wardrobe was never going to be left up to chance—fans of Mew may also know that she studied Fashion Design before becoming an actress. And far be it from us to argue with someone who quite literally has a fashion degree. Whether dressing for a day out with family or getting glammed up for a star-studded affair, here’s all the styling tricks we’ve learned from Mew Nittha.
Business In The Front, Party In The Back
Mew has clearly mastered the mantra of “less is more.” The actress is known to favour a backless dress when the occasion calls for understated elegance. For a night out in Niko, Japan, she wore a slinky black gown from couture and bridal house, L’Astelle. The dress featured an elegant bedazzled boatneck collar, which traced down to the open back. At a collection showcase for Thai fine-jewellery bag brand Jasmina, Mew opted for a backless black dress with delicate crystal strands draped across the back. Let this be a lesson that you should look just as good leaving as you are arriving.
A Few Buttons Short
Sometimes a great cardigan is all you need. The trick is wearing it like a top instead of treating it like an outer layer. Button it almost all the way up, then leave the last few buttons undone to create a longer line through the torso and give the silhouette a little more shape. Mew’s cardigans never fail to give her outfit a pop of colour. During a visit to Hangzhou for Chanel’s 2024/2025 Métiers d’Art collection, she wore a mustard yellow cardigan with the final buttons left open, paired with a tweed Chanel flap bag. More recently, she reached for a vibrant red version while spending the day with her children, finishing the look with a white Chanel 25. Take it from Mew: a cardigan and a great handbag are a pairing worth repeating.
Lovely In Lace
Who doesn’t love a little lingerie moment? Who doesn’t love a little lingerie moment? A flash of lace is often all an outfit needs. Worn under an oversized shirt, blazer or jacket, a bralette adds a feminine touch and a hint of romance. On a casual day out with her family, Mew kept things easy in a floral lace bralette, layered under a light grey cardigan with low-rise jeans. She even slung a chunky gold chain around her waist for a street-style finish. While on a retreat at the Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, she took the same styling trick in a breezier direction, pairing a white lace bralette with an airy midi skirt. If you’re tempted to dip your toes into the lingerie-as-casual-daywear trend, think of the bralette as a pretty underpinning, not underwear.
Drop It Like It’s Hot
We’re in the midst of a Victorian-style revival, and if you need any more proof that the drop waist is having a moment, just look to Mew. Earlier in the year, Mew was seen attending the Spring/Summer 2026 fashion show for Sirivannavari, the atelier academy and design house founded by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya. For the occasion, Mew was outfitted in a white mini dress, with a sheer bodice and drop waist that ballooned into a voluminous bubble hem. Adding a powder blue bag and silver metallic heels, the look was playful and unabashedly feminine. But don’t mistake the drop waist for a silhouette reserved only for bows and bubble hems. By skimming past the natural waist, it can soften the traditional hourglass body shape and becomes surprisingly androgynous when styled differently. At another Sirivannnavari event, Mew rocked an all-leather look, with a moto-inspired sleeveless top and a matching skirt that sported a drop waist pleated hem.
Never Too Shy For Sheer
When you think of sheer outfits, your mind might be inclined to picture the naked dress trend, but there’s far more to transparency than baring it all. Not quite see-through, not quite opaque, [something about sheer dressing]. Mew proves that sheer dressing can be both elegant and sensual. For a stay at the luxurious Aman Nai Lert Bangkok, Mew’s vacation wardrobe consisted of a fluid slate-grey button down and matching floor-length skirt. The overall look was wispy and effortless, with the translucent finish of the sheer co-ord giving the look a weightless quality. Of course, there’s always a bolder take on the trend. Mew stepped out in a black lattice-patterned sheer set for the launch of Chanel’s Bleu de Chanel L’Exclusif fragrance last year.
