With Jonathan Anderson doing his thing over at Dior, the creative direction of Loewe is now in the hands of two fashion designers: Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, formerly the Proenza Schouler boys.

At Proenza Schouler, which McCollough and Hernandez co-founded in 2002 after graduating from Parsons School of Design, the duo carved their niche in New York’s fashion scene with clothes that were eclectic, artsy and cool—the latter being established by It-girls like Chloë Sevigny and the Olsen twins, all fans of the brand.

More than two decades later, McCollough and Hernandez are bringing their experimental approach to the 179-year-old Spanish fashion house, Loewe. On paper, it seems like a good fit. Their predecessor, Anderson, rooted the LVMH-owned luxury fashion brand in craft and made crossovers into the art world during his tenure. McCollough and Hernandez are known to add a desirable twist to their designs by way of complex, quirky textiles, and their collections are often sparked by their visits to museums and galleries.

Sidney Toledano, the former chairman and CEO of the LVMH Fashion Group, and now advisor to Bernard Arnault, offered his approval of the appointment, saying, “I have long admired Jack and Lazaro’s work at Proenza Schouler, their eclectic creativity and dedication to craft make them a natural choice to build the next chapter for Loewe.”

That next chapter will soon be unveiled at Paris Fashion Week. Ahead of their debut Loewe show, McCollough and Hernandez have unveiled a teaser campaign shot by Talia Chetrit. “In it lies a vibrancy and tactility rooted in craft that feels fundamental to the house, a sunniness and sensuality that feels inherent to its Spanish roots, and ultimately an optimism and spirit that we recognize as deeply personal to us as individuals,” shared the designers in a joint statement.

The Loewe Spring/Summer 2026 fashion show will take place on Friday, 3 October, at 5.30 pm (Singapore time). Be among the first to see the fashion show, live from Paris Fashion Week, via the livestream below.
