Selena Gomez has a knack for creating a viral moment. As the most-followed woman on Instagram and one half of two iconic celebrity couples, when the pop star and actress makes a move, the world usually takes notice. But her most recent move is likely to upstage everything that has preceded—Gomez walked down the aisle recently in Montecito, California, tying the knot with Benny Blanco, all while clad in an elegant, timeless, and unmistakably romantic Ralph Lauren gown.
Gomez’s choice of designer was surprising to many, but it instantly placed her among a legacy of iconic Ralph Lauren brides. From Jennifer Lopez’s three ethereal gowns, worn across her Georgia nuptials to Ben Affleck, to Priyanka Chopra’s regal, hand-beaded dress that nodded to multiple cultures, Ralph Lauren has quietly cemented his place in bridal history. It’s a fitting mantle for a brand so famed for timelessness and craftsmanship, with every gown representing a perfect blend of Ralph Lauren house codes and each bride’s unique charm. Read on to get a closer look at Gomez’s custom wedding gown and at other iconic Ralph Lauren brides throughout the years.
Selena Gomez

As soon as the fuss over Selena Gomez’s marquise-cut engagement ring died down, the internet turned its collective attention towards speculation about her wedding dress. As it turns out, she went full romantic. Gomez opted for a custom Ralph Lauren halter-neck gown with a sweeping draped bodice and feathered embroidery at the neck.
Gomez’s signature side-parted bob was styled in an old Hollywood-esque Marcel wave, and she carried a baby’s breath bouquet, adding charming touches to the look. In photos shared to her Instagram, vintage filters and Polaroid frames add a nostalgic quality, but we have no doubt she was equally as dreamy in person. The gown included ruched detailing at the torso and a silky skirt that flowed beautifully with the bride’s every step.
Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra’s wedding to Nick Jonas symbolised the union of not only the happy couple, but also of two distinct cultures and worlds. Her Ralph Lauren dress was only one of the many outfits she wore across her wedding celebrations, and it lived up to the occasion in its attention to detail and blend of cultural influences. The designer also created custom looks for the entire bridal party, including Chopra’s father and Jonas’s groomsmen. “What I do is a reflection of many cultures with my own particular imprint,” Ralph Lauren shared in a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the dress. “The people that relate to it live all over the world.”
The gown consisted of a sequin-embellished slip dress overlaid with a delicate, high-necked lace coat, hand-embroidered by 15 artisans in Chopra’s native India. The embroidery took a total of 1826 hours and included 32,000 pearlescent sequins, 5600 seed beads, and 11,632 Swarovski crystals—as well as eight phrases woven into the embroidery pattern at Chopra’s request, ranging from a Hindu mantra to the date of the wedding ceremony. The final result was a showstopping creation, stunning both at first glance and to the close observer.
Lily Collins

Lily Collins’s custom Ralph Lauren gown went the route of fairytale romance while incorporating a number of elements visible in many of the brand’s other bridal creations. Collins wore a high-collared, Victorian-inspired dress replete with a delicate hood made of antique lace and a flowing train. Describing her experience with designing the dress alongside Ralph Lauren, the actress wrote, “Thank you Ralph Lauren for working so closely with me to dream up this magical dress. It’s my ultimate dream combination of Western Americana and British Victorian. Carefully handcrafted over nearly 200 hours, every detail was perfect—from the Calais-Caudry lace to the Swarovski-beaded micro flowers and silk organza petals. It’s the most beautiful, memorable gown I will ever wear, and I couldn’t have imagined it any other way.”
Jennifer Lopez

Bennifer’s love story might not have lasted, but the pictures from their big day will forever serve as the ultimate wedding inspo. In true JLO scene-stealing style, Jennifer Lopez donned not one, but three custom Ralph Lauren gowns across her nuptial celebrations with Ben Affleck, each dreamier than the last. The first look was the most romantic, featuring a turtleneck and cap sleeves that led into a fitted bodice and ruffled skirt. The next two looks were more accurate to Jlo’s signature fierce and sensual style: an open-backed gown draped with strings of pearls and Swarovski crystals, and a fitted, minimalist mermaid silhouette with a keyhole neckline, also adorned with Swarovski crystals, of course.
Kate Bock

When model Kate Bock got engaged to NBA star Kevin Love, she turned to none other than longtime friend Ralph Lauren to help bring her dream wedding dress to life. The summer wedding took place in the New York Public Library and was inspired by The Great Gatsby, and the bride’s dress was just as much of a nod to tradition and timeless style. The sleek, high-neck silhouette and delicate beading paired with a keyhole cutout at the back created a look that was both refined and refreshingly contemporary. Paired with classic waves and understated makeup, Bock’s ensemble felt like an instant bridal classic.
