The embroidery took a total of 1826 hours and included 32,000 pearlescent sequins, 5600 seed beads, and 11,632 Swarovski crystals—as well as eight phrases woven into the embroidery pattern at Chopra’s request, ranging from a Hindu mantra to the date of the wedding ceremony. The final result was a showstopping creation, stunning both at first glance and to the close observer.

It’s the most beautiful, memorable gown I will ever wear, and I couldn’t have imagined it any other way.”
