The Network of Women in Events CIC (NOWIE) has launched the second edition of the NOWIE Big Survey, a UK-wide research project that will examine the experiences of women working within the events industry.

The survey, available to take part in now, covers live entertainment, music and festival industries. It comes after a previous NOWIE survey in 2025 found that from its respondents, almost one in four women working in the sector had reported having experienced sexual assault linked to their work in events. NOWIE also said its first survey found issues around under-reporting of incidents, barriers to speaking out and concerns around loss of work and workplace repercussions.

NOWIE’s second survey aims to expand the organisation’s initial work by looking to gain feedback from more than 1,000 respondents.

The survey will run from 17 June to August 2026, and will explore issues around sexual harassment and assault, employer accountability, safeguarding and other issues affecting women in the industry.

Findings and recommendations will be published in September, says NOWIE.

The events industry is an incredible space to work in, but the findings from our previous survey made it clear that too many women are still navigating unsafe environments, inconsistent reporting structures and a lack of accountability. We believe meaningful change starts with robust data, honest conversations and industry-wide responsibility.”
